Please continue to pray for Quentin Smith, son of lodge members Steve & Fran Smith. Quentin was recently seriously injured in a paragliding accident in NZ. He is progressing well with his rehabilitation but will be in hospital until at least July. Fran and Steve request that you continue to pray for Quentin's recovery and that he will be able to maintain his positive attitude during this difficult time. Fran, Steve and Quentin also thank all who have shown their love with prayer and concern during the last month.

Jan Coggins (see photo)
has accepted the position of 2008 snow season Catering Manager. Jan says "Albeit an unplanned and God-made-opportunity to go back to dear Southern Cross this coming season, it is a joy I am so looking forward to and I really look forward to catching up with you all. For those who have come into Southern Cross since I was there last, I look forward to meeting new friends who will become 'old' friends".

Maximum bed numbers now 25. Southern Cross recently accepted a NPWS offer to increase our maximum bed numbers (including managers) from 20 to 25. This is the culmination of many years of on and off negotiations between club lodges and commercial lodges with National Parks and Wildlife Services. We especially thank the unpaid committee of the SLOPES organisation (which represents all Perisher/Smiggins/Guthega club lodges) for their tireless work. For further details, see see our May 2008 Newsletter (128kb).

A
15% discount on 5½, 6½ and 7½ day mountain passes is available to our guests who book the 26/7 or 27/7/2008 week. See prices at www.perisherblue.com.au/winter/prices/bonus.html - special conditions apply to lodge guests - ask Brian Gaetjens for details.

See www.perisherblue.com.au for snow cams and full
details of all 2008 mountain passes and lessons (including 2½ hour group lessons & new 7 day passes)
For latest forecasts, see Snowy Mountains Region Forecast

See Perisher Blue Media Release 13/2/2008 for exciting details of what's new in 2008 including a
new skier conveyor at Smiggin Holes and snow making all the way to Perisher Forester Quad Express mid-station.

Hopefully in 2008, Perisher lifts will be open till at least Monday 6 October and maybe longer.
